There are a number of very useful tools to help those with ADHD and ADD manage their daily lives. The tools that non-ADD folks use are often inappropriate for us. Either too simple, too complex or just a poor fit. When looking for specifics, always seek out those tools that are either made for or recommended by other ADDers.

The 7 most important tools that everyone with ADHD or ADD should have on them every day are:

1. A simple to use pocket-sized digital clock with a countdown timer, stop watch, the ability to set at least 16 different alarms, and, ideally, the ability to snooze those alarms.

2. A time tracking sheet with pen.

3. A voice recorder.

4. A pad or with pen, or organizer--digital or paper, with a place to take notes, a calendar, essential phone numbers and other information.

5. A stack of existing and blank "To do" cards, in a rubber band of container.

6. A wallet or purse organizer.

7. Object locators

In addition, many ADDers should also own and use these things:

8. A tickle file

9. A GPS unit, or, if unavailable, at least a map + mapquest both.
10. A mini Family Economy (poker chip/marble or button system) tracker
11. Fidgets

12. A set of extra keys
